The invention discloses an insulating gauge apron for a heavy haul railway fastener and a using method thereof.The insulating gauge apron comprises a left boss, a right boss, bolt holes, a left groove, a right groove, a first outer side face and a second outer side face, the first outer side face is matched with the rail bottom side face of a steel rail, and the second outer side face makes contact with the groove face of a sleeper retaining shoulder; the left boss and the right boss are arranged at the end close to the first outer side face in a bilateral symmetry mode, the bolt hole is formed in the middle of the insulating gauge apron, and the left groove and the right groove are formed in the end close to the second outer side face in a bilateral symmetry mode. Compared with the prior art, the insulation gauge apron has the advantages that the insulation gauge apron can limit the elastic strip to move in the longitudinal direction of the steel rail, and the stability of the fastener in the longitudinal direction of the steel rail is guaranteed; the insulation gauge apron has high bearing capacity while the insulation performance is kept, the strength and stability of the insulation gauge apron are greatly improved, and the transverse load resisting capacity of the fastener is greatly improved.
