The invention provides a construction method for reconstruction and extension of a road. The construction method comprises the following steps: reinforcing corrugated plates of an old road, removing an isolation net, and carrying out roadbed filling construction of a newly-built road; a movable steel guardrail is installed on the inner side of the corrugated plate, the corrugated plate is dismantled, and pavement laying construction of the newly-built road is conducted; corrugated plates are installed on the two sides of the road after construction is completed; and after the corrugated plate is mounted, the reconstruction and expansion construction of the bidirectional pavement is completed through multiple guide and modification schemes. According to the method provided by the invention, on the basis of ensuring normal and safe passing of vehicles, expansion and reconstruction construction of the highway is carried out, the highway protection grade is reached, the construction area and personnel are effectively protected, meanwhile, the construction efficiency is improved, and the reconstruction and expansion project of the highway is completed with quality and quantity guaranteed.
