The invention discloses a floating object blocking device which comprises a trash blocking plate, the trash blocking plate is vertically arranged between walls on the two sides of a channel in a lifting mode, the bottom of the trash blocking plate is inserted into the deep water, the two sides of the trash blocking plate are each provided with a pair of connecting pieces, and the bottoms of the connecting pieces are each provided with a plurality of floating barrels floating on the water surface; a gate opening is formed between the paired connecting pieces on the upper middle portion of the trash blocking plate, a pair of gate plates opposite in moving direction is arranged at the gate opening to block the gate opening, and the lowest position of the gate opening is lower than the lowest position of a passing ship. The device does not need to be dismantled during navigation, can effectively intercept floating objects during navigation, and prevents the floating objects from entering the navigation channel.
