The invention discloses a slope protection construction method. The method comprises the following steps that (1) a guide ditch is excavated along the bottom of a slope; (2) geotextile is laid on the slope surface; (3) the gabion net cages are put down layer by layer from the guide ditch in a step shape, the lower-layer gabion net cages are filled with stone, edge twisting and box sealing are conducted, and then the upper-layer gabion net cages are placed; and 4) performing local backfilling and green planting after the inspection is qualified. The geotechnical cloth is laid on the soil contact surface, so that the anti-scouring and water and soil conservation capabilities are improved.
