The invention relates to a lightweight refractory material for buildings. The building material is prepared from the following components in parts by mass: 20 to 40 parts of waste glass wool board, 40 to 60 parts of calcium aluminate cement, 10 to 18 parts of magnesium oxide, 5 to 9 parts of modified phenolic resin, 5 to 13 parts of calcium silicate, 12 to 22 parts of nano composite material, 10 to 15 parts of fly ash hollow bead, 10 to 18 parts of waste rock wool board, 10 to 16 parts of chopped glass fiber, 4 to 7 parts of diatomite, 5 to 9 parts of andalusite, 10 to 16 parts of aluminum-silicon gel powder and calcium bentonite. The composite material comprises the following components in parts by weight: 5-12 parts of a foaming agent, 2-5 parts of environment-friendly asphalt, 20-40 parts of aluminum silicate fiber, 6-11 parts of microcrystalline foamed ceramic, 3-7 parts of a foaming agent, 6-16 parts of a refractory and 3-11 parts of a liquid flame retardant.
