The invention provides a floating type water pumping device used in a geotechnical engineering deep foundation pit. The water pumping device comprises a water pump, a supporting frame, a floating block, a protective filter screen and an alarm mechanism, the supporting frame comprises a square outer frame and a positioning block fixed to the middle of the square outer frame through a supporting connecting rod, and the water pump is fixed to the lower portion of the positioning block through an adjustable fixing mechanism; the floating block comprises a square hollow shell and an inflatable air bag fixedly embedded in the hollow shell, and the floating block is installed on the side, where the water suction pump is installed, of the square outer frame through a first connecting mechanism; the alarm mechanism comprises a liquid level sensor installed on the bottom face of the near-water side of the supporting connecting rod and an alarm located on the top face of the far-water side of the supporting connecting rod. And the protective filter screen is connected with the square outer frame through a plurality of second connecting mechanisms. The water pump can stably float on the water surface in a foundation pit for water pumping, and the problem that normal work of the water pump is affected due to blockage or dirt accumulation on the supporting frame is solved.
