The invention belongs to the technical field of landscaping, and particularly relates to an irrigation system applied to landscaping and capable of collecting rainwater, the irrigation system comprises a water storage tank, a water collecting hopper is arranged on the upper side of the water storage tank, the water collecting hopper can collect rainwater, two sides of the bottom of the water collecting hopper are fixedly communicated with the water storage tank through fixing pipes, and a liquid pump is fixed on the lower side of one side wall of the water storage tank. One end of the liquid pump is fixedly communicated with a filter cartridge through a first guide pipe. A first electromagnetic valve is closed, and a third electromagnetic valve is opened, so that a liquid pump can pump water provided by an external water pipe, then the water enters a second guide pipe, a second electromagnetic valve is opened, and then the water is supplied into a rotary spray head along a supporting pipe, so that the rotary spray head is used for carrying out spray irrigation on landscaping; a water collecting hopper can collect rainwater, when water in the water storage tank is sufficient, a third electromagnetic valve is closed, a first electromagnetic valve is opened, and therefore a liquid pump pumps water in the water storage tank, and sprinkling irrigation is conducted on landscaping through a rotary spray head.
