The sliding type universal horizontal tuned mass damper comprises a base, a fixing sleeve is arranged in the center of the top of the base, a limiting sleeve is arranged at the bottom of the interior of the fixing sleeve, an inner cavity is formed in the limiting sleeve, a first magnet is arranged at the top of the interior of the inner cavity, and a second magnet is arranged at the top of the interior of the first magnet. A second magnet is arranged at the bottom of the interior of the inner cavity, a sliding block is arranged in the center of the interior of the inner cavity, a third magnet is arranged at the top of the sliding block, and a fourth magnet is arranged at the bottom of the sliding block. According to the sliding type universal horizontal tuned mass damper, the sliding block can suspend in the inner cavity through repulsion of magnetism, then the frictional resistance of the sliding block during moving is reduced, the frictional resistance is small, the sliding block can move under slight vibration, and therefore tuned vibration reduction is achieved; and the problem that the sliding block is difficult to move and reduce vibration under small vibration force due to large frictional resistance is avoided.
