The invention discloses an insulating brick and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of building materials, and the insulating brick comprises the following components in parts by weight: 55-65 parts of cement, 10-20 parts of homogeneous plate regenerated micro powder, 0.4-0.6 part of water-soluble rubber powder and 35-40 parts of water; and the water-soluble rubber powder is polyvinyl alcohol or redispersible latex powder. The preparation method comprises the following steps: S1, preparing mixed powder: uniformly mixing the cement, the homogeneous plate regenerated micro powder and the water-soluble rubber powder according to a certain ratio to prepare the mixed powder; s2, pulping: fully stirring the mixed powder prepared in the step S1 with water to form slurry; and S3, a compression molding step: injecting the slurry prepared in S2 into a mold for compression molding. According to the invention, the heat-insulating brick is manufactured by using the homogeneous plate regenerated micro powder, and the heat-insulating brick has the advantages of good stability, difficulty in cracking, high safety, strong adaptability to the size of a wall body, low manufacturing cost and the like, and is particularly suitable for filling non-bearing wall bodies of rural self-built houses, building wall bodies of greenhouses and the like.
