The invention discloses a multipurpose cleaning device for road traffic, which is characterized in that a horizontal lifting seat is connected to the upper part of a support frame in an up-down sliding manner, a vertical sealing piston is fixed to the top end of the lifting seat, a horizontal lower servo motor is fixed to the front end of the lifting seat in the front-back direction, and a screw rod is coaxially fixed to the rear end of a rotating shaft of the lower servo motor; the rear portion of the lead screw is rotationally connected with the rear portion of the lifting base and is in threaded connection with a horizontal adjusting base, and the adjusting base is connected with the lifting base in a front-back sliding mode. Through rotation of the double-shaft motor, the upper swing arm and the lower swing arm can be driven to rotate at the same time, and through rotation of the lower swing arm, the left sliding seat can be driven to move back and forth in a reciprocating mode through the polished rod and the guide frame; and the left sliding seat can slide back and forth in a reciprocating mode through the left rack, the gear and the right rack to drive the right sliding seat to slide back and forth in the opposite direction, and therefore the brush moving back and forth in a reciprocating mode is used for sweeping the marking lines or the side faces of the guardrails.
