The invention discloses a square tube and round tube connecting method and device.A branch tube is fixedly connected to a main tube through a force transmission component, the force transmission component comprises a first flange plate, a second flange plate, a web, a web stiffening rib and a pressure-bearing round tube, and the method comprises the steps that the shapes, sizes and spacing of the two flange plates are determined; the shapes and sizes of the web and the web stiffening ribs are determined, and the web and the web stiffening ribs are connected between the two flange plates; the web plate is vertically connected with the web plate stiffening rib, and the pressure-bearing circular pipe is connected to the web plate by taking the intersecting line of the web plate and the web plate stiffening rib as the axis of the pressure-bearing circular pipe; and with the axis of the pressure-bearing circular pipe as the reference, the circular branch pipe is connected to the first flange plate. According to the connecting method, during construction, the force transmission component is connected to the main pipe firstly, then the branch pipe is connected to the force transmission component, operation is more convenient for constructors, the quality of joints after connection can be guaranteed, and the device obtained through the connecting method is stable in connection, small in size and more convenient to transport.
