Pneumatic release system
A pneumatic release system having: an inlet arranged to be connected, in use, to a supply of pressurized fluid; the invention relates to a system comprising an inlet arranged to be connected in use to a terminal device, and an outlet arranged to be connected in use to a terminal device, the system defining a flow path through which fluid passes from the inlet to the outlet, where the system comprises a piston mounted in a cylinder and axially movable relative thereto, the inlet and the outlet being defined in the cylinder; the piston has a piston end having an upper seal and a lower seal mounted thereon, where the piston is biased to a first closed position in which the upper seal and the lower seal define a chamber within the cylinder to preserve pressurized fluid from the inlet, and where the upper seal and the lower seal are biased to a second closed position in which the upper seal and the lower seal define a chamber within the cylinder to preserve pressurized fluid from the outlet. The upper seal prevents the fluid from flowing from the chamber to the outlet, and wherein an external force applied to the piston moves the upper seal no longer into sealing engagement with the cylinder to allow fluid to flow from the chamber to the outlet.
