The invention discloses an asphalt pavement crack detection method which comprises the following steps: S1, preparation: cleaning a detection device by using the detection device for asphalt pavement detection; s2, dividing: dividing an asphalt pavement needing to be detected into areas according to a picture shot by the detection device; s3, detection: pushing a detection device to detect each divided area in sequence, and recording data; the detection device comprises a vehicle body, a processing box is arranged on the outer wall of the top of the vehicle body, and a touch display screen is arranged on the outer wall of the top of the processing box. A detector pushes the vehicle body to run on the asphalt pavement, the camera is used for shooting the asphalt pavement, then image information is processed by the processing box and transmitted to the touch display, and when the asphalt pavement has cracks, the cracks are marked and the detector is reminded; the method solves the problem that in a traditional detection method, a detection instrument needs to be manually held by hand to recognize the crack, and the crack detection efficiency is greatly improved.
