The invention discloses a side wall construction method for improving a horizontal construction joint. The side wall construction method comprises the following steps that firstly, side wall steel bars are installed at the position of a side wall; secondly, after the side wall steel bars are installed, a middle plate formwork is installed, a middle plate and a side wall foundation are poured synchronously, and the bottom ends of the side wall steel bars are embedded in the side wall foundation; thirdly, after the middle plate is formed through pouring, a side wall formwork system is erected on the middle plate, the bottom of the inner side of the side wall formwork system makes contact with the middle plate, and the thickness of a wall body protection layer is reserved between the side wall formwork system and the side wall foundation; and fourthly, after the side wall formwork system is erected, a side wall body starts to be poured, the side wall body is poured at a time, and the side wall formwork system is dismantled after pouring forming. Under the condition that the structural stress is not changed, the attractiveness is greatly improved, the color difference phenomenon of the wall is eradicated, the construction joints are wrapped in the side wall, the problem that water leakage is likely to happen to the positions of the construction joints is solved, and the construction quality is guaranteed.
