The invention relates to a floating roof construction method, and belongs to the technical field of production processes. The method comprises the steps that the spacing distance of the damping blocks is determined according to the load bearing of the damping blocks and the construction area; a damping block is installed on the flat structural floor slab; paving a steel plate on the damping block; paving an isolating layer on the steel plate; paving a thermal insulation layer on the isolation layer; paving a light aggregate concrete layer on the thermal insulation layer; paving a rigid layer on the lightweight aggregate concrete layer; paving a waterproof isolating layer on the rigid layer; paving a surface layer on the waterproof isolating layer; and the surface layer is cured, anti-cracking treatment and anti-seepage treatment are conducted on the surface layer in the curing period, and the floating roof is obtained after curing is finished. According to the floating roof construction method, the spacing distance of the damping blocks can be determined according to the load bearing and the construction area of the damping blocks, so that the damping blocks are reasonably distributed, deformation of the floating roof is controlled, and the service life of the floating roof is prolonged.
