The invention discloses a deformation joint structure with a rainwater leakage function and a construction method thereof. The deformation joint structure is arranged between an original structure roof and a newly-added structure roof. Comprising an I-shaped steel plate, an II-shaped steel plate, a downpipe and a stone water grate, the I-shaped steel plate comprises a vertical plate section; the vertical plate section is attached to the outer side face of the retaining wall. A hanging groove is formed in one side, close to the retaining wall, of the top of the vertical plate section, and a water storage groove is formed in one side, facing the gap, of the bottom of the vertical plate section; the hanging groove is hung on the top of the retaining wall, and an original waterproof roll layer is laid on the top of the hanging groove; a supporting plate is supported at the bottom of the water storage tank; the downpipes are longitudinally arranged at the bottom of the water storage tank at intervals; the vertical section of the II-type steel plate is in an inverted L shape, the transverse plate section of the II-type steel plate is in lap joint with the top of the new roof panel, and the vertical plate section of the II-type steel plate extends into the water storage tank.
