The invention provides a municipal bridge expansion joint device which comprises an elastic system, at least one first cavity and at least one second cavity are formed in the elastic system, and when a bridge expansion joint extends, the size of the first cavity is increased, and the size of the second cavity is reduced; when the bridge expansion joint is shortened, the volume of the first chamber is reduced, and the volume of the second chamber is increased; the first cavity and the second cavity contain elastic bodies, the total volume of the elastic bodies in the first cavity is smaller than a first preset volume, and the total volume of the elastic bodies in the second cavity is smaller than a second preset volume. The volume of the elastic body in the first cavity and the volume of the elastic body in the second cavity are both smaller than the preset volume of the first cavity and the preset volume of the second cavity, so that the elastic body can have movement allowance in the first cavity and the second cavity under the condition that the bridge slightly deforms and expands with heat and contracts with cold, and the position of the elastic body is variable; and elastic fatigue caused by long-term local stress of the elastic body is avoided.
