The invention relates to the technical field of riparian wetlands, and particularly discloses a riparian slope wetland and a construction method thereof, the riparian slope wetland comprises a slope wetland body; a first inclined part, a horizontal part and a second inclined part are sequentially arranged on one side, close to a river bank, of the slope wetland body; a first planting layer is arranged on the first inclined part; a first protective grating is arranged outside the first planting layer; a first anchor rod is arranged on the first protective grating; a second planting layer is arranged on the second inclined part; a second protective grating is arranged outside the second planting layer; a second anchor rod is arranged on the second protective grating; the horizontal part is provided with a water filtering mechanism capable of treating water flowing down from the surface of the first inclined part; the slope surface is protected by planting slope protection plants and utilizing the anchoring effect of plant root systems, and slope running water is filtered through the water body filtering mechanism, so that sewage is not prone to generating large pollution to river ecology.
