An acoustic panel having a wet laid mineral fiber base mat, a non-woven porous fiber glass film adhered to the base mat and covered by a light reflective breathable coating, at least 90% of the weight of the base mat comprising mineral wool and a binder, the weight of the binder being less than 1/11 of the weight of the mineral fibers, the base mat has a density between about 11.4 pounds per cubic foot and about 14.2 pounds per cubic foot, the mineral fibers have an average diameter between 4.5 microns and 8.3 microns, and the composite structure of the base mat, film and coating exhibits good NRC and CAC performance values.
