The invention relates to a supplementary tensioning method for cable clamp bolts of a suspension bridge, which comprises the following steps of: tensioning the nth group of cable clamp bolts by using first fastening force, and measuring first echo time of ultrasonic waves in screw rods of the cable clamp bolts; continuously loading to the designed fastening force, tensioning the nth group of cable clamp bolts, and measuring the second echo time of the ultrasonic waves in the screw rods; the nut is tightened, the designed fastening force is unloaded, tensioning of the nth group of cable clamp bolts is completed, and the third echo time of the ultrasonic waves in the screw is measured; the steps are repeated until the N groups of cable clamp bolts are tensioned; calculating the fastening force loss of each group of cable clamp bolts; and the tensioning control force of each group of cable clamp bolts is used for tensioning each group of cable clamp bolts, the nuts are tightened, the tensioning control force is unloaded, and tensioning is completed. The tension compensation method for the cable clamp bolt of the suspension bridge is particularly suitable for the suspension bridge in the operation period, the fastening force loss of the cable clamp bolt after tension is completed is accurately considered, and tension compensation is more accurate.
