The invention discloses an overall assembly jig frame and a steel box girder assembly method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of bridge construction, the overall assembly jig frame comprises a jig frame track, movable jig frames with adjustable intervals are arranged on the jig frame track, the movable jig frames are in one-to-one correspondence with all sections of a steel box girder, and bearing faces matched with bottom plates of the sections in shape are arranged on the movable jig frames. The bearing face is provided with a locking area used for being fixed to the segment. The assembling method comprises the steps that S1, the general assembling jig frame is erected; s2, steel box girder sections are assembled; s3, the box opening matching degree is detected; s4, drill hole groups are matched for the segments, permanent lug plates are welded, and temporary matching pieces are installed; and S5, each section is subjected to tire release, and the section at the tail end is moved to the movable tire frame at the head end to serve as a mother beam for total splicing of the next round. According to the construction condition, the steel beam sections move front and back along with the movable jig frame, the requirement for overall splicing section matching can be met at small intervals, the requirement for construction convenience can be met at large intervals, only the placing position of the steel beam is changed when the jig frame track moves, the overall splicing linetype is not changed, and the splicing precision is guaranteed.
