The invention provides a lock for a vertical hinged door, which comprises a lock catch box provided with a lock groove; the lock shell is provided with a containing cavity, and the lock shell is used for being arranged on a door body of the vertical hinged door; the spring bolt is slidably arranged in the accommodating cavity; the elastic piece is used for elastically driving the spring bolt to enable the head end of the spring bolt to be clamped in the lock groove; the lock groove is provided with a first guide face matched with the head end of the spring bolt, and the first guide face extends from an opening of the lock groove to the interior of the lock groove. When the door body is pushed and pulled, the head end of the spring bolt can move along the first guide face and retract along the containing cavity so as to be separated from the lock groove. By means of the arrangement, the door can be opened and closed more quickly and conveniently, more importantly, due to the fact that the door handle does not need to be twisted, the door body does not bear pressure in the vertical direction due to twisting of the door handle, the stress of the door body is simplified, and therefore the hinge installation structure of the door body is not prone to deformation after the door body is used for a long time; therefore, the probability that the door body is loosened due to inclination and the door is not opened and closed smoothly is greatly reduced.
