The invention discloses a lifting device of a climbing door in the building industry and a lifting method of the lifting device. The lifting device comprises a driving motor, an RV speed reducer, an electric appliance control box, a coaxial transmission assembly and gears installed at the two ends of the coaxial transmission assembly, and the electric appliance control box controls operation of the driving motor; therefore, rotation of the driving motor is transmitted to the coaxial transmission assembly through the RV speed reducer, gears at the two ends of the coaxial transmission assembly are driven to operate along racks on the two sides of the door leaf, and the door leaf composed of the door plate assemblies is driven to ascend or descend. The lifting device drives the gear to climb along the rack through the RV speed reducer with the driving motor, compared with traditional steel wire rope lifting, a torsional spring system or a counterweight system does not need to be arranged, deviation or shaking is not prone to occurring in the door leaf opening or closing process, the fault rate of related parts is greatly reduced, and the cost is reduced. The driving mechanism can be installed on the lowermost door plate assembly at the bottom, and the safety risk caused by high-altitude installation is reduced to the maximum extent.
