The invention relates to the technical field of refractory bricks, in particular to a preparation process of a light refractory brick for a kiln, which comprises the following steps: mixing an additive solution with a foam stabilizer accounting for 60-80% of the mass of components, adding kyanite, anorthite raw materials, magnesite, alumina fibers and alumina particles, and mixing; and sequentially adding the white cement, the foaming agent and the foam stabilizer with the mass being equal to that of the rest components, intensely stirring for 7-8 minutes, pouring, drying and firing to obtain the light refractory brick. According to the invention, anorthite with the characteristics of low density, low thermal expansion coefficient, low thermal conductivity, high specific strength, good anti-stripping performance and the like, mullite with the use temperature of more than 1700 DEG C, good thermal shock resistance and long service life, and spinel with the characteristics of low thermal expansion coefficient, low thermal conductivity, good thermal shock resistance and the like are used as a composite crystal phase of the refractory brick; the prepared refractory brick has the comprehensive performance characteristics of high temperature resistance, low heat conductivity, high strength and the like.
