Compared with the prior art, the needle coke grading formula and the preparation method for preparing the high-quality graphite electrode, provided by the invention, have the advantages that a method for carrying out grain grading on large particles and small particles is adopted, the large particles form a main conductive path, and the small particles are filled in gaps of the large particles to form a more compact conductive path, so that the conductive performance is relatively good; and the prepared graphite electrode is high in volume density, low in thermal expansion coefficient and good in breaking strength.
