The invention discloses a movable flow suppression device for bridge vortex vibration and a control method of the movable flow suppression device. The movable flow suppression device comprises a plurality of movable flow suppression units, and each movable flow suppression unit comprises a control module, a first wind speed sensor, a second wind speed sensor, a first movable flow suppression assembly and a second movable flow suppression assembly; the first movable flow restraining assembly and the second movable flow restraining assembly comprise flow restraining plate assemblies, first damper assemblies and second damper assemblies. The first damper assembly and the second damper assembly are connected with the two ends of the flow restraining plate. The control module controls the driving module corresponding to the movable flow suppression assembly to work according to wind speed data collected by the first wind speed sensor or the second wind speed sensor, the rotating angle of the movable grid plate is adjusted, and then the ventilation rate of the flow suppression plate is adjusted. The method has the effects of changing the aerodynamic configuration of the bridge and improving the mechanical damping of the bridge, not only optimizes the bridge structure from the vortex vibration source, but also has a good vibration reduction effect after the structure starts vibration.
