The invention provides a pool water level detection device, pool cleaning equipment, a detection method and a control method. The pool water level detection device comprises an auxiliary container and a detection unit, and the auxiliary container is provided with an opening; the detection unit is positioned on one side of the opening; and the detection unit is used for transmitting a detection signal towards the outer side of the auxiliary container to the opening so as to determine the relative position between the water line detection device and the water line of the pool. The water level of the pool can be identified, and the pool cleaning equipment can be controlled based on the identified water level of the pool.
