The invention relates to an intelligent charging pile parking system capable of recognizing a new energy license plate and a control method. The intelligent charging pile parking system comprises a camera unit, a parking space lock unit, an MCU module, a wireless communication module and an RS485 communication module. The camera unit is installed on a charging pile, and the parking space lock unit is installed on a parking space in front of the charging pile. The camera unit and the parking space lock unit are connected through the wireless communication module, and the camera unit and the MCU module are connected through the RS485 communication module; the camera unit collects license plate information in a polling mode and carries out operation processing on the license plate information, the result of operation data is sent to the parking space lock unit, and lifting of a lock of the parking space lock unit can be controlled by the camera unit in a wireless communication mode. The system has the advantages that the problem that fuel vehicles are parked in new energy vehicle public charging pile parking spaces is reduced, and the utilization rate of the charging piles is increased; and meanwhile, a wireless communication mode is adopted, so that the trouble of field wiring is reduced, and equipment maintenance is easy.
