The invention relates to a hydraulic drive for a roller press (1), comprising a hydraulic pump (22), a front hydraulic motor (26) which can be coupled or can be coupled to a front drive axle (28), and a rear hydraulic motor (30) which can be coupled or can be coupled to a rear drive axle (32), the hydraulic pump (22) being designed to supply the front and rear hydraulic motors (26, 30) with pressurized hydraulic fluid; wherein the front hydraulic motor (26) has a front adjustment mechanism with a front pivot angle, and wherein the front adjustment mechanism is designed to pivot the front pivot angle from a starting pivot angle, which differs from the minimum pivot angle, towards a smaller pivot angle as the pressure of the hydraulic fluid increases in the presence of an uphill travel.
