The invention relates to a recoverable anchor rod and a recovery method thereof.The recoverable anchor rod comprises an anchor rod body which comprises a free-section anchor rod body and an anchoring-section anchor rod body which are connected with each other through a recovery device; the recovery device comprises a shell, an annular hole used for being connected with the free section anchor rod and allowing the free section anchor rod to move is formed in the top of the shell, a threaded hole used for being connected with the anchoring section anchor rod is formed in the bottom of the shell, and annular teeth and a force bearing table matched with the annular teeth in shape are arranged in the recovery device. When the anchor rod is in a tensioned state, the free section anchor rod is driven to rotate in the first direction, the free section anchor rod rotates and drives the recovery device to generate first torque in the first direction, and the recovery device is driven to rotate in the second direction. And the anchoring section anchor rod generates a second torque which is opposite to the first torque and is in the second direction, so that the free section anchor rod is separated from the anchoring section anchor rod under the action of the first torque and the second torque which are opposite to each other.
