The invention discloses a river channel anti-scouring protection device and method. The device comprises at least two protection assemblies, at least two fixing assemblies and at least one connecting assembly. Each protection assembly comprises a first supporting plate arranged on the first side slope, a second supporting plate arranged on the second side slope and a deposition plate arranged on the riverbed. Each fixing assembly comprises a first fixing piece arranged on the face, close to the first slope, of the first supporting plate and a second fixing piece arranged on the face, close to the second slope, of the second supporting plate. Each connecting assembly comprises at least one first connecting rod and at least one second connecting rod, wherein the two ends of each first connecting rod are rotationally connected with the adjacent first supporting plates correspondingly, and the two ends of each second connecting rod are rotationally connected with the adjacent second supporting plates correspondingly. A broken stone structure in the prior art is replaced with a complete and continuous plate structure, and therefore the service life of the first supporting plate and the service life of the second supporting plate are obviously prolonged.
