The invention relates to the technical field of water level monitoring, in particular to an observation well water level monitoring device which comprises a cover plate detachably connected to an observation well, a support is installed on the upper side of the cover plate, and a transmission shaft is rotationally connected to the support; a pulley and a counter are connected to the transmission shaft, a pull rope is arranged on the pulley, the end of the pull rope reciprocates in the longitudinal direction, and the two ends of the pull rope are connected with a floating plate and a first balancing weight matched with the floating plate respectively; the floating plate is attached to the water surface, when the height of the water surface changes, the first balancing weight pulls the pull rope and the pulley to rotate, and the counter counts; when the device is used for monitoring the water level in the observation well, by arranging the first balancing weight, it can be guaranteed that when the floating plate floats upwards, the pull rope moves longitudinally and is always kept in a straight state, the accuracy of the measurement result is guaranteed, meanwhile, the counter is adopted for reading, manual errors are avoided, and the accuracy of the measurement result is improved.
