The invention provides a preparation method of a low-cost ozone catalyst ceramsite carrier, and particularly relates to the technical field of water treatment.The preparation method comprises the following steps that carrier raw materials are weighed and comprise fly ash, kaolin and a swelling agent; mixing carrier raw materials, and carrying out uniform ball milling to form mixed carrier powder; adding a pore-forming agent, a binding agent, a structure auxiliary agent and a strength auxiliary agent into the mixed carrier powder according to a certain proportion; then granulating to obtain carrier balls; drying the obtained carrier balls; and roasting the dried carrier balls at 900-1000 DEG C for 4.5-6 hours. The preparation method of the carrier is low in cost: compared with existing carriers which are widely applied in industry, the raw materials of the carrier are ready-made materials, the carrier does not need to be pretreated and only needs to be mixed according to a certain proportion, the preparation method is simple, and the preparation cost of the catalyst carrier is greatly reduced.
