The invention relates to hydrophobic powder and a preparation method and application thereof, and belongs to the technical field of hydrophobic powder preparation. The hydrophobic powder is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 102 to 156 parts by weight of a primary mixture, 8 to 18 parts by weight of a hydrophobic agent, 5 to 22 parts by weight of hydroxyethyl acrylate, 3 to 16 parts by weight of hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide, 2 to 12 parts by weight of 2-hydroxy-1-[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy) phenyl]-2-methyl-1-acetone and 20 to 60 parts by weight of purified water. The hexamethyldisilazane is added, so that the surface energy of the material is reduced, and the hydrophobicity of the product is improved; hydroxyethyl acrylate is added, a large number of hydroxyl groups are added to the hydrophobic powder, hydrogen bonds are formed between the hydroxyl groups and silicon-oxygen bonds, the hydrophobic powder is endowed with aging resistance, in the process that a system forms gel, the whole system forms a semi-intertwining net-shaped structure, the binding force between the components is increased, and therefore the hydrophobic powder has excellent toughness.
