The invention discloses a string type formwork reinforcing device and a formwork reinforcing method. The string type formwork reinforcing device comprises I-shaped steel, two connecting bases, two prestress tension chord members, a combined connecting piece and a jacking mechanism. The two connecting seats are arranged on the I-shaped steel in a spaced mode, the combined connecting piece is located in the middle of the two connecting seats, and the two ends of the combined connecting piece are connected with the connecting seats through the prestress tension chord members respectively; and the jacking mechanism is arranged between the I-shaped steel and the combined connecting piece. According to the string type formwork reinforcing device, the formwork can be reinforced only by fixing the I-shaped steel with the ground wall embedded steel bars and the embedded anchor bars, a large number of horizontal embedded steel bars are reduced, seepage paths are reduced, the I-shaped steel between the two connecting seats can generate prestress through the jacking mechanism, and the formwork can be reinforced. The prestress can counteract horizontal acting force generated during concrete pouring, and the string type formwork reinforcing device occupies a small construction space and is easy to operate, low in cost and high in construction efficiency.
