Carbonate aggregate compositions and methods of making and using same
Methods of making carbonate aggregates are provided. Aspects of the methods include preparing a carbonate slurry, subjecting the carbonate slurry to a rotation action, for example by introducing the carbonate slurry (optionally with an aggregate matrix) into a drum under conditions sufficient to prepare a carbonate aggregate, for example, consisting of a spherical coating on the matrix and/or agglomerated particles. Aggregate compositions prepared by the method and aggregate compositions comprising carbonate coatings, such as concrete, and uses thereof are also provided.
