The invention discloses an atom transfer radical polymerization method which comprises the following steps: providing a transition metal catalyst, a monomer A and a monomer B with an active halogenated group, adding an initiator, mixing and carrying out polymerization reaction, and finally extracting a water reducer product from reactants through distillation and other technical means.
