The embodiment of the invention relates to the technical field of urban drainage networks, and particularly discloses an online monitoring method and system for an urban drainage network. According to the embodiment of the invention, a node distribution model is constructed by updating and recording a plurality of monitoring nodes; the monitoring frequency is adjusted, and online monitoring signals are sent to a plurality of monitoring nodes; multiple pieces of online monitoring data are received, and abnormal nodes which do not send the data are marked; selecting and marking auxiliary nodes; and establishing a temporary connection with the abnormal node, and obtaining target monitoring data. A node distribution model can be constructed, on-line monitoring signals can be sent according to different monitoring frequencies, and target monitoring data of the abnormal nodes can be obtained by receiving and analyzing on-line monitoring data, marking the abnormal nodes which do not send the data, selecting auxiliary nodes and constructing temporary connection. Therefore, the monitoring data of all the monitoring nodes can still be collected under the conditions of unstable network and data transmission disconnection, and the overall monitoring analysis of the urban drainage network is ensured.
