A concrete bridge deck widening structure with a steel joist is formed through the following steps that S1, firstly, an original concrete beam wing plate is chiseled away, steel bars are planted in the exposed design positions of the wing plate, and holes are drilled in the design positions, corresponding to connecting anchor bolts, of an original concrete beam web and a lower wing plate; s2, steel bars are laid and welded to exposed transverse steel bars of the original concrete beam, a steel bar net is formed, and then a side die and a bottom die are vertically arranged; s3, an ultra-high performance cement-based composite material layer is poured, covered and cured; s4, steel guardrails are installed; the structure involved in the process is simple in construction, clear in stress, convenient to construct, short in period and small in influence on traffic. The widened structure is good in integrity, economical and attractive, and the problems that an existing widening method is high in manufacturing cost, complex in construction, unstable in connection between a widened part and an original structure, poor in integrity and the like can be solved.
