The installation structure and the installation method for the external corner of the independent frame type bathroom wallboard comprise a wallboard assembly which is vertically arranged, the wallboard assembly is formed by sequentially connecting a plurality of wallboards, external corner connecting pieces are arranged at the connecting positions of the adjacent wallboards, each external corner connecting piece comprises a buffer strip and a connecting edge which are arranged in the height direction of the corresponding wallboard, and the buffer strips are connected with the connecting edges. The buffer strips abut against the external corners of the adjacent wallboards, the connecting edges are arranged between the adjacent wallboards at intervals, and abutting pieces abutting against the adjacent wallboards are arranged on the connecting edges. Compared with the prior art, by arranging the buffering strip, the connecting edge and the abutting piece which are connected, the buffering strip, the connecting edge and the abutting piece can all directly abut against the adjacent wall plate, the buffering strip and the abutting piece are fixed to the wall plate assembly through the self-tapping screws and the adhesive, clamping grooves do not need to be formed in the wall plate to fix the external corner connecting piece, and therefore the external corner connecting piece can be fixed conveniently. Not only can the grooving time be saved, but also the situation that the external corner connecting piece cannot be installed due to the fact that the size of the formed clamping groove does not correspond to the size of the external corner connecting piece is avoided.
