The invention relates to a lime kiln flame monitoring system and method.The system comprises a water cooling cover arranged on the wall of a lime kiln, a high-temperature lens for collecting images of flames in the lime kiln is arranged on the front side of the water cooling cover, a camera core is connected with the high-temperature lens and transmits the images collected by the high-temperature lens to a central control terminal, and the water cooling cover is provided with a water cooling system; the water cooling system comprises a hot water pipeline and a cold water pipeline which are arranged in the water cooling cover. The refrigerator is connected with the cold water pipeline and the hot water pipeline. The cold water pipeline is provided with a regulating valve for regulating the cold water flow; a thermometer for detecting the temperature of the hot water pipeline is arranged on the hot water pipeline; the temperature controller is connected with the adjusting valve and the thermometer and collects data of the thermometer. The temperature controller controls the opening degree of the regulating valve in a grading mode according to the difference value between the set temperature value and the thermometer. According to the invention, the calcining state of the lime kiln can be mastered through video monitoring of the flame condition in the lime kiln, and stable operation of the video camera at high temperature can be ensured.
