The invention belongs to the technical field of road construction, and particularly relates to a large-gradient municipal road asphalt pavement construction method which comprises the following working procedures: pavement pretreatment; cement stabilized macadam is laid on the upper layer of the pavement to be constructed to serve as a subbase layer, and after subbase layer construction is completed, cement stabilized macadam is laid on the subbase layer; curb stone construction is carried out; construction of a steel wire mesh: spreading permeable oil on the surface of the base layer, building the steel wire mesh, and fixing the steel wire mesh on the roadbed in a suspended manner by adopting U-shaped nails; construction of an asphalt pavement layer: spraying a lower sealing layer after spraying prime coat asphalt oil, wherein the steel wire mesh is positioned in the lower sealing layer; a lower surface layer is laid on the surface of the lower sealing layer by adopting coarse grain type asphalt concrete, modified emulsified asphalt tack coat oil is sprayed on the surface of the lower surface layer, and an upper surface layer made of SBS fine grain type asphalt concrete is laid on the surface of the lower surface layer; the steel wire mesh is built in the asphalt pavement layer, and the steel wire mesh and the lower sealing layer asphalt form a reinforcing layer, so that the strength and the quality of the formed asphalt pavement layer are improved.
