The invention provides a decorative mortar facing structure and a construction method. The decorative mortar facing structure comprises a separation seam decorative layer and a decorative mortar layer. The decorative mortar layer comprises a first part covering the partition seam decorative layer and a second part covering the face to be decorated. The first part is provided with a separation seam extending along a preset path, and the separation seam penetrates through the first part in the thickness direction and partially exposes the separation seam decoration layer. According to the decorative mortar facing structure, the coverage area of the partition seam decorative layer is larger than the area of the partition seam. And the second part covers the surface to be decorated. The construction method of the structure comprises the steps of arranging the separation seam decoration layer, arranging the separation seam shielding object, arranging the decoration mortar material layer and removing the separation seam shielding object. Wherein the position of the separation seam decoration layer does not need to be accurately arranged and only needs to be arranged within an approximate range containing a preset path. The decorative mortar facing structure is reasonable in structure, easy and convenient to construct and high in construction efficiency.
