The invention relates to a hinge assembly and a refrigerator with the hinge assembly, the hinge assembly comprises a hinge seat, a hinge shaft connected with the hinge seat, a hinge shaft sleeve arranged on the hinge shaft in a sleeving mode and an elastic stopping piece arranged on the hinge shaft and connected to the hinge shaft sleeve in an abutting mode, and the hinge shaft sleeve is provided with a limiting boss connected to the elastic stopping piece in an abutting mode. The elastic stopping piece is provided with a stopping boss which abuts against the hinge shaft sleeve and corresponds to the limiting boss, so that in the process that the hinge shaft sleeve rotates relative to the hinge base, the limiting boss drives the stopping boss to elastically deform in the axial direction of the hinge shaft. By arranging the elastic stop piece abutting against the hinge shaft sleeve on the hinge shaft, the elastic deformation of the elastic stop piece is used for absorbing the force generated between the limiting boss and the stop boss in the axial direction of the hinge shaft, and therefore deviation generated between the hinge shaft sleeve and the hinge base in the axial direction of the hinge shaft is avoided; damage to the refrigerator caused by lifting of the door body is eliminated, and then the use requirement of the embedded refrigerator is met.
