The locking mechanism for the cargo compartment handle comprises a base and a locking plate, a rear side plate of the base is used for being connected with a compartment door, a U-shaped mounting groove is formed in a front side plate of the base, an opening of the mounting groove is vertically upward, and the locking plate is rotationally arranged in the mounting groove; a limiting groove used for containing the handle is formed in the upper portion between the front side plate and the rear side plate, the groove bottom of the limiting groove is used for being connected with the lower side face of the handle in a blocking mode, and a cavity is formed in the lower portion between the front side plate and the rear side plate. A notch communicated with the cavity is formed in the groove bottom of the limiting groove, and the notch is opposite to the mounting groove; a limiting block is vertically arranged on the side, close to the rear side plate, of the upper end of the locking plate, and the lower side face of the limiting block is in blocking connection with the upper side face of the handle. A connecting plate is arranged at the lower end of the locking plate and located in the cavity, and the connecting plate and the rear side plate are connected through an elastic piece which is arranged obliquely downwards. According to the handle locking device, the handle can be firmly and reliably locked.
