The invention discloses a reinforcing device applied to restoration and maintenance of an ancient building and a using method of the reinforcing device. The reinforcing device structurally comprises a plurality of pins inserted along wall gaps, reinforcing parts placed in the wall gaps and bracket assemblies distributed along the wall gaps. The bracket comprises a bendable base and a mounting piece for fixing the base on a wall body; the base of the mounting part is tightly attached to the wall, so that an open groove is formed between the base and the wall, the groove is used for collecting fluid repairing materials for repairing the wall, the wall can be repaired under the condition that the wall is not damaged, and the tray assembly can autonomously change according to cracks of the wall. In combination with the using method of the device, the filled material can be more compact in the wall body by utilizing the groove of the tray assembly, and the reinforcing property is good; the device can be suitable for various changes of cracks through the installation piece, installation is extremely easy and convenient, and the construction efficiency is high.
