According to the method, the coal gangue is subjected to light burning for carbon removal, so that carbon elements in the coal gangue can be removed, and the influence of excessive carbon element content on the structure and performance of the cordierite ceramic during subsequent high-temperature sintering is avoided; the cordierite ceramic precursor powder is subjected to compression molding, so that most of air in a green body can be removed, and the compactness of the cordierite ceramic is improved; according to the present invention, the rapid sintering of the cordierite ceramic can be achieved by using the rapid heating rate and the rapid cooling rate during the sintering process so as to easily reduce the cost, and the rapid sintering can further achieve the ceramic densification promotion effect; therefore, the densified cordierite ceramic which is comparable with pure chemical reagent synthesis and has a pure-phase structure can be prepared more easily.
