The invention provides a door latch device which can improve operability when a door is opened by releasing swing limitation of a limiting part on a connecting rod. The door latch device (10) is provided with a restricting part (35) which locks the spring member (33) and restricts the link (31) from swinging to the unlocking position side by the spring member (33) when the link (31) swings to the locking position side against the application force of the spring member (33) due to the action of inertia force greater than or equal to a set value. The link (31) has a restriction release part (38) that releases the engagement between the spring member (33) and the restriction part (35) by moving at least a part of the spring member (33) when the link is restricted from swinging by the restriction part (35) and is moved from the retracted position to the advanced position by receiving the rotational force of the opening lever (41), thereby releasing the restriction of the swinging of the link (31).
