Comprising the following components: 713.2 parts of water, 270 parts of C4 monomer, 4 parts of sodium methallyl sulfonate, 0.2 part of ferrous sulfate, 2 parts of hydrogen peroxide, 1 part of ammonium persulfate, 4.5 parts of acrylic acid, 4 parts of FDR assistant, 0.3 part of vitamin C and 0.8 part of modified mercaptopropyl, wherein the concentration of hydrogen peroxide is 27.5%. The environment-friendly preparation method is adopted, energy consumption is low in the preparation process, environmental pollution is small, compared with a traditional preparation method, energy consumption is effectively reduced, production of the water-retaining agent is more environmentally friendly and lower in carbon, the preparation method of the water-retaining agent is simple and low in cost, and the application field of the water-retaining agent can be effectively expanded.
