The invention provides a municipal rainwater drainage system, which comprises a rainwater collection subsystem for collecting rainwater, a first drainage well arranged on a road with strong water seepage capability or a common road in the rainwater collection subsystem, and a second drainage well arranged on a road with poor water seepage capability, a drainage channel with a pumping unit is arranged between the first drainage well and the second drainage well; the first drainage well and/or the second drainage well are/is provided with well lid bodies with drainage holes, filtering pieces arranged below the well lid bodies and electric telescopic mechanisms connected between the well lid bodies and the filtering pieces. A first sensing device used for sensing rainwater is arranged on the well lid body, a second sensing device located at the drainage channel and used for sensing the water level is arranged in the second drainage well, and the first sensing device, the second sensing device, the electric telescopic mechanism and the pumping unit are all connected with an external solar power supply device. According to the municipal rainwater drainage system, the drainage effect of urban roads in rainstorm weather can be improved.
